WHAT TO EXPECT
After we pick up all the guests, we will drive about 2 – 2.5 hours to Tay Ninh Province. We may stop along the way for refreshments and toilets. Upon arriving at Cao Dai temple, we can walk around to have a panoramic view of the temple and admire its beautiful architecture. After that, to gain the fascinating insights and information about this religion, we can go inside the building and watch the Caodaists pray.
Lunch will be served on the way from the temple to Cu Chi Tunnels. Upon arrival:
- You’ll watch a brief video, which explains how the tunnels were used to successfully defeat American military forces in combat.
- As the tour continues, the guide will explain some traps that were placed in the jungles to either hinder American soldiers or create panic among platoons.
- From here you can enter one of the entrances and crawl through the tunnels, which partially simulates the real experience of living there for an extended period of time!
- There is a shooting range where you can try firing an automatic or semi-automatic weapon for a fee (this fee is not included).
- You will take some rest at the end and have a taste of Củ Chi boiled tapioca while contemplating what humans are capable of while defending their homeland.
We will drive back to Ho Chi Minh city. The tour ends in the city center.

Tay Ninh, near the Cambodian border, is home to the unique Cao Dai sect. The religion is a hybrid of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism and Christianity. The Cao Dai Temple at Tay Ninh has been described as a Walt Disney fantasia of the East. The temple’s exterior is decorated with multi-colored dragons of all shapes and sizes competing for space with a number of swastikas. Above the main entrance is the All-Seeing Holy Eye, the symbol of the Cao Dai sect. The interior is just as engaging, as statues of Jesus Christ, Buddha and the Hindu god, Brahma, stand side by side.
In the Vietnam War, the tunnels of Cu Chi were used by Viet Minh soldiers as hiding spots during combat, as well as serving as communication and supply routes, hospitals, food and weapon caches and living quarters for numerous North Vietnamese fighters. Cu Chi Tunnels is a legendary underground system of over 220 km of tunnels. The tunnels are now a Vietnamese historic structure, and Cu Chi is considered a heroic district for the role it played in the resistance to the US Armed Forces during the Vietnam War.
